Vacancy Announcement: Quaid-e-Azam Chair in Pakistan Studies
The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, in lieu of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed with Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong, is inviting applications to fill the position of “Quaid-e-Azam Chair in Pakistan Studies” at the Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong.
Basic Eligibility
i. Rank of Associate Professor or above with experience of working in public or private universities in Pakistan.
ii. Ph.D degree from an HEC-recognized university/institution in Urdu language / literature / Pakistan studies / history / political science / international relations / international trade, or development economics.
iii. At least 10 years teaching/research experience in a recognized university/center/research organization.
iv. At least 10 relevant publications in HEC-recognized journals.
v. Must be a Pakistani National Scholar.
Other Requirements
i. A maximum of 58 years of age on the closing date of the advertisement will be eligible.
ii. Having strong communication skills especially in English language.
iii. Familiarity with the culture, institutions, and people of the host country.
iv. Capacity and competence of leadership to project the language, history, and culture of Pakistan in the host country.
v. Carrying out independent research symposia/seminar, research grant management, organizing conferences/workshops, and social outreach to promote Pakistani culture.
vi. Experience in mentoring, advocacy, communication, diplomacy, and experience in dealing with public forums.
vii. Membership in professional or academic bodies, supported by documentary evidence.
viii. Proficiency in computer skills.
ix. Should have social as well as interpersonal skills to project a positive image of Pakistan.
Terms and Conditions
i. The tenure of the appointment will initially be for a period of three (03) years on a deputation basis/contract basis, extendable to a maximum of two years on a yearly basis, subject to quarterly performance reports submitted by the scholar.
ii. The pay and allowances would be equivalent to BS-20 or BS-21 on the prescribed terms and conditions of the Government of Pakistan.

v. Only short-listed candidates will be called for interview.
vi. No TA/DA shall be admissible for an interview.
vii. The Ministry reserves the right not to fill the vacancy without assigning any reason thereof.
