How to Apply
For most positions, including Assistant Driver and Senior Managers, the application process is handled online:
- Portal: Visit the National Job Portal (NJP) at www.njp.gov.pk.
- Registration: Create a profile, login, and search for “Ministry of Railways” or “Pakistan Railways”.
- Submission: Complete the online application and upload the required documents.
- Note: Some senior MP-scale positions may also require sending a hard copy of the prescribed application form to the Ministry of Railways, Pakistan Secretariat, Islamabad.
Processing Fee & Payment
- Amount: A processing fee of Rs. 1,000/- is required for each application.
- Where to Pay: Deposit the fee at any C.C.T Cash Office (Lahore), through Station Masters, or at Booking Offices of Pakistan Railways.
- Proof of Payment: You must obtain a Miscellaneous Receipt (M.R.) and upload it with your online application on the NJP portal.
Reserved Quotas
The department follows a strict quota system for recruitment:
- Open Merit: 60%
- Railway Employee Sons: 20% (includes 2% for sons of deceased employees; Railway Cards are mandatory)
- Ex-Servicemen: 10%
- Minorities/Non-Muslims: 5%
- Orphans: 5% (Death Certificate of father from NADRA required)
